Think of a scrapbook, where you put cool things you have seen and want. “Cool Cars”, “Mulberry Bags I would love”, that sort of thing.
Now share that with all your friends, who can copy your clippings to their scrapbooks.
That is pinterest – scrapbooking for the digital world.
But wait, how about these facts…
1. 21% of those surveyed recently purchased a product immediately after viewing it on a pinterest board.
2. Pinterest is at its strongest when used for fashion, hotels, food and gardening
3. 31 million users have joined in just two years, and it is growing fast in the UK among females in particular
4. Just stop and think how powerful a tool this is, if a picture paints a thousand words cafe operators can have boards showing their latest cake offer, hotels can have boards for each of their rooms, and garden centres can have boards for all the categories in the planetaria, dry shade, perfect plants for gifts…
Pinterest users can then copy your images to their boards, plants I must have, places I would love to stay etc.
However many times your picture is copied to tother boards when clicked on it still takes people back to your website – how cool is that!
In fact this could be why Pinterest is causing so much excitement, it is hugely effective at driving traffic to your website compared to other social media.
We are huge fans and feel Pinterest must be included in the typical Facebook/Twitter social media strategy, we would love to show you how, so why not get in touch…
